Light rays enter the eye through the cornea (the clear front window), pass through the pupil (the hole in the center of the iris), and then through the lens, finally reaching the retina (the film) at the back of the eye. The front wall of the eye forms the image of what you see during your daily vision task. This is accomplished by the cornea , which stitches together to produce a lens that focuses light rays so they are focused on the retina . Cataracts occur when tears or other abnormalities in the cornea weaken the stitches.
